Naxalbari, 16th May: Three individuals have been arrested with drugs and a large amount of cash in Naxalbari. The accused have been identified as Vishwanath Burman, a resident of Tukaria More, Naxalbari; Nandan Basfor of Totaram Jote; and Vishal Gurung, a resident of Shantinagar.
On Thursday night, acting on information about a drug exchange, Naxalbari police raided a house in Tukaria More.
The three accused, who attempted to flee upon seeing the police, were detained. During the search, police recovered 70 grams of brown sugar and Rs 2 lakh 65 thousand in cash from them.
All three accused were produced in Siliguri court on Friday.
