Kharibari, 04th March: Beparu Tudu (47), Ranjan Viswakarma (35), and Somen Mandal (29) were arrested along with 175 grams of brown sugar before being smuggled to Nepal. Among them, two are residents of South Dinajpur and the other is from Malda.
It has been learned that based on a tip-off, the jawans of SSB’s 41st Battalion arrested three persons with brown sugar in the Dandajhar area of Kharibari and was later handed over to the police. The market value of the recovered brown sugar is Rs 5 lakh rupees.
They were sent to Siliguri court on Friday.
