Bagdogra, 31st August: In a significant drug enforcement operation, three individuals were arrested with brown sugar in Bagdogra. The arrests occurred following a raid conducted by undercover officers from the Bagdogra police station on Asian Highway 2, near Singhijhora Tea Estate.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Imran Sheikh (19) and Ramzan Sheikh (19), both residents of Kaliachak in Malda, and Bimal Ghosh, a resident of Naxalbari.
Reportedly, during the operation, police seized 816 grams of brown sugar from a motorbike that lacked a registration number plate. It is believed that the trio had gathered to exchange the brown sugar.
The suspects are set to appear before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Sunday. The Bagdogra police station is continuing its investigation into the incident.
