Three arrested with 48 grams of brown sugar on Indo-Bangladesh border

Kharibari, 16th January: In a recent development, the SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal) 41 battalion Personnel successfully apprehended three youths with brown sugar at the Indo-Bangladesh border of Kharibari. The arrested accused have been identified as Rabindranath Roy, a resident of Goursing Jote in Kharibari, Sayan Roy, a resident of Hatighisa in Naxalbari, and Sameer Roy, a resident of Sukna.


According to reports, the SSB Personnel held a special check at Panitanki of Kharibari and arrested the three. Upon initiating a search, the officials recovered about 48 grams of brown sugar from their possession. Subsequently, all the three accused were handed over to the Kharibari police station.

On Tuesday, the accused were produced before the Siliguri Divisional Court. At present, the Kharibari police are engaged in further investigation of the entire incident.
