Siliguri, 17th October: Ashighar Outpost police, based on a tip-off, conducted a campaign and arrested three people with a huge amount of cannabis in their possession. A pickup van has also been seized in the incident.
The accused have been identified as Ramakrishna Bhowmik, Maminur Ali, residents of Cooch Behar, and Vijay Mandal, a resident of Tikiapara in Siliguri.
As per the information, on Friday night, the police of Ashighar Outpost launched an operation in the Eastern Bypass area of Siliguri. During the operation, the police detained a pick-up van and upon searching recovered 106 kg 500 grams of cannabis. While the vehicle was immediately seized by the police, three have been arrested in connection to the incident.
The three accused were produced in the Jalpaiguri court today.
