Three arrested on the charge of smuggling intoxicants

Siliguri, 14th February: On February 8, Mohammad Jabbar, a dealer in Ward No. 3 Gurung basty area, allegedly attacked a youth when he protested against the sale of intoxicants. Following which, a complaint was lodged against him at Pradhan Nagar Police Station.


Based on the complaint, the Pradhan Nagar Police arrested Mohammad Jabbar last night. Besides, Jabbar’s two sisters were also arrested. The police filed cases against the three under sections 448/326/307/34 of the Indian Penal Code and produced them at the Siliguri court today.

It is to be noted that Jabbar was earlier arrested several times on charges of selling and smuggling intoxicants.

    Strict laws of IPC must be charged and serious police action must be taken against such habitual offenders and history sheeters of crime because if they are taken lightly then they will keep on running their illegal business and make a mockery of law enforcement everytime after getting bail from court
