Siliguri, 15th December: Police in Siliguri seized liquor worth over one lakh rupees and arrested three smugglers in connection with the case. The accused have been identified as Om Prakash Sah, Anup Sah, and Sachin Kumar, all residents of Bihar.
According to police sources, the trio had planned to smuggle liquor from Sikkim to Bihar. An illegal liquor operation was reportedly being run from a rented house in Samar Nagar Boubazar, near Champasari, Siliguri.
Acting on a tip-off, the Anti-Crime Wing of Bhakti Nagar Police Station raided the rented house and recovered a large quantity of foreign liquor. The three accused were taken into custody during the operation.
The arrested individuals were produced in Jalpaiguri court on Monday. Bhakti Nagar police are conducting further investigations into the case.
