Siliguri, 12th December: Three individuals were arrested by plainclothes police in Siliguri while allegedly planning a robbery. The arrested have been identified as Palash Mandal, Sujit Lama, and Ajay Barman.
According to police sources, late Thursday night, around eight individuals were reportedly preparing to carry out a criminal act at a deserted location in Milan Pally under Ward No. 26. Acting on a tip-off, police launched a raid at the spot.
Upon seeing the police, five of the suspects managed to escape, while three were apprehended. Officers recovered knives, iron rods, and several other weapons that were allegedly intended for use in the planned robbery.
Police are interrogating the arrested individuals and are actively searching for the absconding suspects. The three arrested have been produced before the Siliguri Court. Investigation into the matter is ongoing.
