Three arrested in Fulbari snatching case, stolen goods recovered

Fulbari, 06th May: In a swift breakthrough, NJP police have arrested three individuals in connection with a snatching incident that took place in Fulbari. The stolen items and the motorcycle used in the crime have been recovered.


According to reports, on the afternoon of April 27, Anima Das and Anita Mahanta, residents of Purba Dhantala in Fulbari, were heading to the market when two bike-borne miscreants snatched their bags near Battalion More and fled. The bags contained money and important documents. A case was registered with the police shortly after the incident.

Following an investigation and CCTV footage review, police arrested Debashis Barman and Ritesh Singha on May 03 and took them into a three-day remand. Their interrogation led to the arrest of Riju Singha from Samsan Basti, Fulbari. The bike used in the robbery was recovered from him, and the stolen goods were recovered from Kanchanbari on Monday.


All three accused were produced before the Jalpaiguri court on Tuesday for legal proceedings.
