Three arrested in connection with two separate cases of theft in Siliguri

Siliguri, 03rd January: The cops of Matigara police station of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police solved two separate cases of theft by arresting three miscreants. In addition, the stolen goods have also been recovered.


The three arrested accused have been identified as Manav Barman, Biplab Roy, and Ajit Barman alias Pappu, all residents of an area under Matigara police station.

As per police sources, on December 22 and 31, incidents of theft in vacant houses were reported from two different locations in the Patharghata area. The miscreants made their way after stealing utensils, gas cylinders, water pumps, music system, and other items from the residence.


After the incidents, the house owners lodged written complaints of theft at the police station, a few days prior. Based on the complaints, on Tuesday night, the cops of Matigara police station arrested three miscreants from the Patharghata area. On Wednesday, all three accused were presented before in Siliguri court. Currently, the police are engaged in further investigation.
