Three arrested in attempted robbery case in Siliguri

Siliguri, 19th April: In a late-night operation, police foiled an attempted robbery and arrested three individuals from the Fauji Math area under Ward No. 42.


The incident occurred on Friday night when Bhakti Nagar police received a tip-off about a group of miscreants gathering with deadly weapons in the locality.

Acting on the information, a team from Bhakti Nagar police station conducted a swift raid at the spot. During the operation, three suspects were apprehended, while a few others managed to escape under the cover of darkness.


The arrested individuals have been identified as Ranjit Oran, Tapas Roy, and Manik Roy, all residents of an area under the jurisdiction of Bhakti Nagar Police Station.

Police recovered a range of iron-made tools from their possession, including a hammer and a large screwdriver, suspected to be intended for criminal use.

The arrested trio will be produced before the court today. Police have launched a search to trace the absconding individuals.
