Siliguri, 04th May: In a significant breakthrough, the police have arrested three accused in connection with murder for resisting theft case in Siliguri.
Reportedly, on Friday, the undercover cops of Pradhan Nagar police station have arrested the three accused from Pundibari area of Cooch Behar. The arrested accuseds have been identified as Ramesh Mukhiya, Pawan Mukhiya alias Bhola, and Bablu Mukhiya.
It is to be noted that on April 24, violence prevailed under the jurisdiction of the Pradhan Nagar police station in Hathidoba area near Darjeeling More, after protesting against theft at a house during a wedding ceremony. During the unrest, the people of the house associated with the wedding were allegedly attacked causing death of Ghanshyam Prasad. After the incident, a written complaint was filed by Ranjan Sah at the Pradhan Nagar police station.
Subsequently, the cops of Pradhan Nagar police station had launched an investigation and arrested accused Purna Mukhiya in connection to the case. However, the other accused were still at large. During further investigation, police gained success in arresting three accused from Pundibari in Cooch Behar and transported them to Siliguri.
On Saturday, all three accused have been produced before the Siliguri court, where remand was sought for further investigation.
