Siliguri, 26th February: In a foiled attempt of robbery, the police officials of the Matigara police station have arrested three youths of a gang. The accused have been identified as Mohammad Javed, Chandan Mohan Chaudhary and Kunal Singh.
As per the information received, the group of miscreants were intending to execute a robbery or other criminal activity on the banks of the Mahananda River under the jurisdiction of the Matigara police station. However, the Matigara police launched an operation and arrested the gang prior to the execution of the crime.
In addition, the police recovered several weapons from the possession of the accused. On Monday, the accused were presented in the Siliguri Court while further investigation is underway.
