Following their victory in the panchayat elections in West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) called for the Martyr’s Day rally on July 21. Owing to this, thousands of enthusiastic party supporters and workers from across the state gathered in Kolkata on Friday.
The event commemorates the 1993 Kolkata firing, a tragic incident in which 13 people lost their lives in police firing, and the party organizes a rally every year. However, this year’s rally takes on added importance as it serves as a platform for the TMC to showcase their strength and unity in the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha Election.
The focal point of the rally will be the address by Chief Minister and TMC supremo, Mamata Banerjee. Anticipation is high as she is expected to reveal the party’s roadmap for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to take place in May next year.
