Siliguri, 26th April: In another significant breakthrough in the minor kidnapping case, the Bhakti Nagar police station has arrested the third accused in connection to the case. The arrested accused has been identified as Bikki Sharma.
As per reports, on Sunday, a minor girl from Bhanu Nagar area under Bhakti Nagar police station went out of her house for some work. During this, a few unknown individuals forcibly took the minor on a scooter. Subsequently, as the minor did not return home, the family members lodged a written complaint at the Bhakti Nagar police station.
Based on the complaint, the police launched an investigation and successfully rescued the minor from the residence of a youth named Bikki. Additionally, the police also arrested two more individuals identified as Rahul and Dilip from Bikki’s house.
After a detailed examination of the CCTV footage of the area, the police learned that Dilip and Bikki had abducted the minor. However, Bikki was still at large. Meanwhile, the police arrested two accused on abduction charges and recovered the scooter used in the crime.
On Thursday night, acting on a tip-off, the police arrested Bikki Sharma, the third accused of the abduction case. On Friday, the accused have been produced before the Jalpaiguri court, while the police are engaged in further investigation.
