Siliguri, 14th October: Thieves allegedly broke into a house in Adarsh Nagar, under Ward No. 04 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation, and fled with gold and silver jewellery and cash worth lakhs of rupees while the family was away for Durga Puja shopping.
According to reports, Susmita Das Sarkar, wife of Gautam Sarkar, left home with her son around 4 PM on Tuesday to shop for Durga Puja. When they returned around 9 PM, they found the door lock broken and belongings scattered across the rooms.
