Rajganj, 02nd March: An unusual incident of theft occurred in a house in Belakoba of Rajganj causing a stir in the area.
According to reports, the theft took place in the residence of Bhaskar Das, a resident of the North Bengal Farm area under Shikarpur Gram Panchayat of Rajganj block. The residents of the house claimed that the miscreants had made off with lakhs of rupees in cash and several pieces of gold jewellery.
Family sources revealed that the incident occurred late on Friday night. It is speculated that their lunch was drugged due to which their health began to deteriorate and they started becoming unconscious. Significantly, cash worth Rs 5.5 lakh rupees and gold jewellery went missing.
On Saturday morning, the family members learned about the theft. Upon receiving the news, the officials of Belakoba Outpost arrived at the spot and initiated an investigation into the entire incident.
