Thief steals Lord Hanuman’s silver crown on New Year’s Day from temple in Siliguri

Siliguri, 01st January: A shocking incident of theft has surfaced from the locality of Siliguri’s Regulated Market on the first day of the New Year.


According to reports, a thief entered the Hanuman Temple disguised as a devotee after the priest had completed the morning rituals. After the temple was opened for the devotees, the thief seized the opportunity and stole a silver crown from the idol before fleeing the scene.

The incident has raised serious concerns about security in the area. Local traders rushed to the spot after hearing of the theft and expressed dissatisfaction with the police’s lack of action. They claimed that such thefts have been occurring frequently in the area. Despite multiple complaints to the police and local authorities, no actions have been taken to address the issue.


In response to the incident, the police arrived at the temple shortly after the theft and began an investigation into the matter.
