Thief arrested and stolen goods recovered in Siliguri teacher’s house burglary case

Siliguri, 23rd July: The Pradhan Nagar police station has successfully resolved a burglary case involving a teacher’s house within a week. Abdul Salam (25), a resident of Circuit House Masjid More, has been arrested in connection with the theft, and the stolen items have been recovered.


 

The incident occurred while school teacher Prashant Kumar Dhar was away in Sikkim with his family from July 10. On July 13, Dhar learned that the gate of his home in Middle Palash, Siliguri, had been broken. Upon returning on July 14, he found that the house had been robbed, with brass and bronze utensils valued at approximately Rs 70,000 stolen.


 

Dhar filed a complaint at the Pradhan Nagar police station, prompting an investigation. After seven days of inquiries, the police arrested Abdul Salam. Following interrogation, the stolen utensils were recovered from Champasari market. On Tuesday, Abdul Salam was presented before the Siliguri court.
