Alipurduar, 20th November: In a shocking incident of theft, thieves struck an empty resident located in Jaigaon’s Bhagat Singh Nagar area along the Bhutan border, and made off with valuables worth lakhs.
According to reports, on Monday morning, a local gold entrepreneur from the area, Santosh Kumar, had left his house to visit a Chhath Ghat with his family. However, to his surprise, when he returned home at around 6:30 AM, he found that the door lock had broken. Upon entering the house, he spotted that the cabinet locker in his house was damaged. In addition, numerous gold ornaments and Rs. 1 lakh in cash were also stolen.
Subsequently, the Jaigaon police were notified of the incident. Upon receiving the information, the police swiftly arrived at the crime scene and initiated an investigation into the theft.
