Siliguri, 27th July: A theft occurred in a vacant house on Netaji Road at Subhash Pally in Siliguri, while the residents were away.
Reportedly, the homeowner, Tithi Chakraborty Maitra, had handed over the house to a promoter for reconstruction and was not residing there at the time. Taking advantage of the situation, thieves stole several items, including electrical cables, cooking utensils, and a TV.
The incident came to light on Friday night when a neighbor noticed the lights on in the vacant house and informed the homeowner. Upon contacting the promoter, it was discovered that various items were missing from the property.
