Theft in two houses in one night in Baghajatin Colony area of Ward No. 2

Siliguri, 29th October: A shocking incident of theft unfolded at the Baghajatin Colony area of Ward No. 02 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) where two residences were subjected to a burglary on the same night.


According to reports, two homes in the Baghajatin Colony were simultaneously the target of theft on Friday night. The miscreants made off with thousands of rupees worth cash and several valuables from both houses. The house owner, Dulal Chandra Saha, stated that the first theft occurred on the eve of Mahasashti at his residence where the miscreants stole an inverter battery.

Following this, on Saturday night, the thieves broke into the tenant’s home once again and stole Rs 70,000 in cash. Meanwhile, another incident of theft occurred in the neighborhood that evening. He further mentioned that about four theft cases have occurred in the region since the puja.


The incident has led to a widespread commotion in the area. Residents have begun questioning the function of law enforcement in safeguarding the region in light of the series of theft.
