Fulbari, 25th February: A theft at the Maa Shakambari Chandi temple in the Chunavati area of Fulbari has created a sensation. The incident took place on Tuesday, with several thousand rupees worth of gold ornaments and the donation box stolen.
According to local sources, puja was performed in the temple as usual on Monday. However, on Tuesday morning, the priest arrived to open the temple and found the gate broken. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the idol’s gold ornaments and the donation box were missing.
Following the incident, New Jalpaiguri police station was informed. Police reached the spot and have started investigating the matter.
