‘The way in which the Chief Minister was insulted yesterday is an offense to the entire Bengal” – Goutam Deb

Siliguri, 23rd January: Minister Goutam Deb expressed outrage over the insult faced by Mamata Banerjee during the commemoration event of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary at Kolkata’s Victoria Memorial yesterday.

It is to be noted that the Prime Minister, State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and numerous MPs gathered at Kolkata’s Victoria Memorial to mark the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, on Saturday.

However, Mamata Banerjee erupted in anger at the crowd after she was faced with chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram. ‘I think govt’s program should have dignity. This is not a political program, it doesn’t suit you to insult someone after inviting them. As a protest, I won’t speak anything,” she said and left the stage.

The state tourism minister Goutam Deb highly condemned the incident and said that it is an insult to the entire state. The people of Bengal will not tolerate such misconduct in any way.
