Siliguri, 24th October: On Thursday, the members of ‘The Night is Ours’ group, including Koel Roy a member of the organization, held a press conference to demand a prompt investigation by the CBI into the ongoing case of R.G. Kar rape and murder.
Despite a long time since the incident, the victim did not get justice, prompting concerns among people. As a result, the group announced a planned march scheduled for October 26, starting from Bagajatin Park in Siliguri and concluding at Airview More.
Rukhfa Khatun, a representative of the organization, emphasized that true justice can only be achieved through impartiality. She further expressed that addressing incidents of sexual violence requires society’s collective action.
In this regard, Koel Roy added that while they must trust in the legal system, it is important for the system to function effectively and swiftly. The march aimed to protest the delays in rightful justice on time.
