Siliguri, 04th October: During a press conference at the BJP party office in Siliguri, Union Minister for Women and Child Development Debasree Chaudhuri stated that the center’s new farm bill is extremely beneficial for the farmers.
She stated that the central government, after a long time, has passed the farm bill in the interest of farmers’ rights. As a result, farmers, from now on, can sell their produce without any restriction and barrier. She further alleged that the opposition parties are against the bill to save the intermediaries.
She also scoffed at the State Chief Minister and said that Mamata Banerjee fought for the rights of the farmers when the Tata group wanted to set up their factory on the farmers’ land in Singur. However, when a new farm bill has been passed for the benefit of the farmers, the CM has been constantly opposing it. By doing so, 86 percent of farmers in Bengal are being deprived of all the benefits.
