Siliguri, 12th May: On the occasion of International Nurses Day, programmes are usually held for the nurses to appreciate their selfless services to the patients. However, with the outbreak of COVID-19, nurses are working rigorously, giving up their holidays. Today too, on Nurses Day, the frontline heroes were spotted tending patients at the hospitals.
Amidst the COVID-19 situation, Nurses are playing a significant role. Since day-1 they are fighting against the fatal virus and are working for the wellbeing of the patients.
The Nurses of the District hospital said that International Nurses Day is observed to celebrate them. However, amid the coronavirus pandemic, serving patients is their ultimate purpose. They further said that they feel satisfied when the patients recover from their illness and go home from the hospital.
Nurses said that the biggest honor for them is when the people give respect. They urged the people to use masks, sanitizers and leave the house only if needed.
