Rajganj, 02nd December: Tension gripped the area a private school was found functioning in a government community hall located in the Milan Pally area under Ward No. 18 of the Mantadari Gram Panchayat of Rajganj block.
According to information, the community hall was reportedly constructed several years ago under the initiative of Panchayat Samiti in Milan Pally village of Rajganj block. However, the community hall was later shut down for a prolonged period. At present, a privately run school was being unlawfully operated on the grounds of the community hall. Furthermore, the school has been running publicly for a year in the presence of the administration. Compounding the issue, the school administration has been making money from the students every month to fund operations.
In this context, the students’ guardians spoke out regarding the issue and complained that the students had to pay Rs 500 monthly to study, in addition to other fees. A teacher Malti Biswas revealed that the school was visibly functioning in the government community hall for a year under the directives of a Panchayat member and Pradhan in the area.
Meanwhile, Archana Roy, the Pradhan of the Mantadari Gram Panchayat, expressed her ignorance regarding the entire matter. She further mentioned investigating the situation and taking the necessary steps. However, the proprietor of the school has not responded in this regard.
