Siliguri, 30th July: Chaos erupted during the board meeting of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation on Wednesday as Member of Mayor-in-Council (MMIC) Dilip Barman was reportedly removed from the session following a heated exchange.
According to sources, Barman was interrupted while attempting to speak, which led to a verbal altercation with the Chairman, Mayor, and Deputy Mayor. The situation quickly escalated, resulting in Barman being asked to leave the meeting.
Outside the meeting, Dilip Barman voiced his frustration and questioned a recent suspension of a demolition drive against an illegal building. He alleged that although the demolition process had begun, it was abruptly halted following a phone call.
