Siliguri, 02nd January: The temporary security staff of Siliguri Government Polytechnic College are on strike in support of several demands including salary arrears.
Reportedly, even after protesting several times, the said demands have not been accepted. After which the temporary employees again joined the strike today. The protesters stopped the principal of the college from entering the premises.
In this regard, the protesters said that there has been no increase in the salary of temporary employees working in Group D in the Government Polytechnic College of the state for a long time. They have informed various departments including the principal of the college. Along with this, a memorandum has also been submitted. Even after constant appeals and protests, the management is not paying attention to it. Citing this they stated their reason for the strike which they will continue until the demands are met.
