Temporary jail built at NJP Police Station for lockdown violators

Siliguri, 17th May: In view of an upsurge in the COVID cases, the state government extended lockdown till May 30. The administration has been directed to take stringent action against lockdown violators.

Despite this, many people are still failing to observe the guidelines and hence are being arrested by police. With less space in the police station, the police administration is facing the problem to keep lockdown violators in jail. To tackle this, the NJP Police have adopted an alternative measure to temporarily resolve this problem.

According to the information received, the police administration has enclosed the waiting room of the NJP police station and has built a temporary jail for people who violates COVID protocols. They will be kept under strict police supervision.
