Cooch Behar, 22nd August: Temporary employees of the Cooch Behar Municipality staged a protest at Kachari More, demanding the payment of their overdue salary, on Saturday. The employees laid on the road and staged their protest.
According to the employees, they have not been receiving their salary for the last 4 months. Their protests lasted for almost an hour.
The blockade was later lifted after the police intervened and assured the demonstrators of looking into the matter.
On the other hand, temporary workers stated that if their problems are not resolved by next Tuesday, they will initiate a protest from Wednesday onwards.
