Siliguri, 02nd August: The Sikkim police, with the assistance of the Siliguri Detective Department and Pradhan Nagar Police, arrested two youths involved in illegal drug trade. The arrested accused have been identified as Kamrul Huda and Murtaza Alam.
According to the information, a few days ago, Sikkim Police had arrested a couple with about 22 grams of brown sugar. During interrogation, the couple confessed to buying the drugs from a shop in Siliguri. Following this, the Sikkim police contacted the Siliguri police for further investigation.
On Sunday night, a team of Sikkim police, with the assistance of the Detective Department and Pradhan Nagar Police, raided a pharmacy ran by Kamrul Huda in Champasari. According to police sources, the drug store was under the name of Murtaza Alam.
The arrested individuals were produced at Siliguri court today and are being taken to Sikkim on transit remand.
