Teachers’ Day celebrated at Suryasen Primary School in Siliguri

Siliguri, 05th September: Today marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan which is observed as Teachers’ Day across the country. The day is being celebrated with great enthusiasm like every year in Siliguri as well.


In regard to this, Suryasen Primary School in Ward No. 23 of Siliguri has arranged a special program to commemorate the day. The schools 127 students were treated with a feast of meat and rice today instead of their usual mid-day meal that consists of Khichdi, egg and soybean. The students were ecstatic and seen beaming with happiness with the special arrangements made. 


Every year teachers celebrate this day with the program arranged by the students. But this time the teachers made arrangements and surprised the students by feeding them a feast from their salary. Jatiya Pandit, the headmistress of the school said that usually eggs, vegetables, and soybeans are given in the mid-day meal, but today special arrangements were made by the teachers together.
