Siliguri, 27th February: Sensation spread in the Hatiadanga area after the body of a teacher was found hanging in the rest room of a private school. A suicide note was also recovered from the scene. The deceased, identified as Abhijit Nath (43), was originally a resident of Dhupguri and had been working as a computer teacher and in management at the school for the past 10 years.
According to the school management, Abhijit Nath traveled from Dhupguri to Siliguri every Monday and returned home on Friday after classes. On Wednesday, the school was closed for Maha Shivratri. As he held the school keys, he was expected to open the premises on Thursday morning. However, after multiple calls went unanswered, teachers and parents forced open the rest room, where they discovered his body hanging.
Following the incident, Ashighar Outpost police were informed. Upon arrival, they recovered the body along with a suicide note. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
