Siliguri, 28th April: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called for a 12-hour bandh in North Bengal to protest against the incident in Kaliaganj. Reports of unrest have been coming in from various places due to the strike. Supporters of the bandh are holding rallies and setting up road blockades at different locations.
Despite the strike, the tea industry in North Bengal remained unaffected. The tea gardens in Siliguri and Terai were seen functioning normally since morning, with labourers working in the gardens.
