Taxi driver detained for misbehaving with tourists from Kolkata in Siliguri

Siliguri, 28th May: A taxi driver in Siliguri was taken into custody by the Bhakti Nagar police station for allegedly misbehaving with tourists from Kolkata. The altercation reportedly occurred from a disagreement over the operation of the air conditioning system in the vehicle.


As per the details gathered, a group of tourists hailing from Kolkata had embarked on a journey to Gangtok on May 22. On Tuesday, the tourists were travelling back to Siliguri from Gangtok via taxi after sightseeing. However, when the tourists requested the taxi driver to activate the air conditioning, the driver allegedly misbehaved.

Subsequently, the tourists resorted to lodging an online complaint with the Bhakti Nagar police station upon their arrival in Siliguri. Consequently, the Bhakti Nagar police swiftly detained the taxi driver. At present, the police have initiated necessary measures to address the matter.
