Swapna Barman clinches silver in Asian Athletics Championship in Bangkok

Swapna Barman has added another medal to her name and made the country proud. The Heptathlete gained 5840 points to clinch the Silver Medal at the Asian Athletics Championships in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday. Ekaterina Voronina of Uzbekistan won Gold with 6098 points, while, Yuki Yamasaki of Japan finished in third position with 5696 points.


To let you know, the athlete hails from a village in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, and has an unusual 6 toes on each foot. In 2018, Swapna won the gold medal at the Jakarta Asian Games. Later, in the year 2019, Swapna Barman was honored with Arjuna Award.
