Suvendu Adhikari visits storm affected areas in Jalpaiguri, meets the injured at the hospital

Jalpaiguri, 01st April: The Leader of Opposition (LoP) Suvendu Adhikari in West Bengal assembly, met the injured at a Hospital in Jalpaiguri after a disastrous cyclonic storm. Subsequently, he visited Maynaguri and met with the victims.


According to reports, on Monday morning, Suvendu Adhikari landed at Bagdogra Airport and subsequently travelled to Jalpaiguri Super Speciality Hospital and spoke to the injured victims.

Meanwhile, the members of the Trinamool Labour Union protested as the outdoor gate was allegedly closed when Suvendu Adhikari was inside the Hospital. They further accused Adhikari of doing politics.


On the other hand, after meeting the injured Suvendu Adhikari stated that the doctors, health workers and nurses are performing their duty very well and working throughout the night. He further made an appeal to the voluntary organizations of Jalpaiguri and North Bengal to stand in support of the victims.

Later, Suvendu Adhikari visited the affected village in Maynaguri, took stock of the area and interacted with the residents.

In this regard, Chief Medical Officer of Health of Jalpaiguri district Asim Haldar stated that five individuals have lost their lives in the storm and the injured are undergoing treatment. He added that reality behind the closure of the outdoor gate of the hospital was yet to be ascertained.
