Raiganj, 16th March: A woman was admitted to Raiganj Medical College-Hospital under North Dinajpur district after developing symptoms of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). She is a resident of the Maharaja area of the Raiganj block.
It was reported that the woman was admitted to the Raiganj Medical College- Hospital on Sunday night. Currently, she has been kept in a room at the Women’s Medicine Department of the hospital. Although a separate isolation ward has been set up for the patients under the direction of the state government, the ward remains locked. Hence, the woman could not be transferred to the ward.
Meanwhile, the health staff of the hospital stated that no communication was possible with the medical college authorities. Therefore, they kept the woman in a separate room, where she is undergoing initial treatment.
