Siliguri, 02nd October: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit-I of Surya Sen Mahavidyalaya planted 154 saplings, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Today, Gandhi Jayanti is being commemorated across the country. On the occasion, 20 volunteers of the aforementioned college NSS Unit-I planted saplings in the Porajhar area of Fulbari Gram Panchayat.
Speaking in this regard, Vivek Pradhan stated that the day marks the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. On this occasion, 154 saplings have been planted in the Porajhar area. Apart from that, saplings have been planted in various other areas. The Unit has undertaken the initiative of making the city green.
