Supporters of Chhotan Kisku protest against his removal as District President of Darjeeling District Trinamool Kisan Khetamjur, alleging insult to the tribal community

Siliguri, 18th April: Chhotan Kisku’s supporters protested against his removal as District President of Darjeeling District Trinamool Kisan Khetamjur and expressed their anger through a press conference in the area adjacent to Sanyasi Tea Garden of Bagdogra.


They alleged that the tribal community has been insulted by this incident and that such incidents of being given a post and then being removed have happened time and again. They consider this incident as shameful for the tribal community, and their sentiments have been hurt. As a protest, they have planned to hold demonstrations in the coming days. 

In response, Darjeeling district Trinamool Congress leader, Papiya Ghosh, stated that Chhotan Kisku has been appointed as the district vice-president in the recently formed committee in their district, and efforts are being made to utilize his skills for large-scale work in the future. She clarified that there was no intention to hurt anyone and considered this to be a misunderstanding. She has discussed the matter with state leaders.
