Alipurduar, 03rd November: Dooars has been seeing a continuous elephant influx in the residential areas. Every day, the mammoths are seen entering the area and creating havoc. But this time one was seen walking on the road in broad daylight.
Due to the sudden arrival of an elephant on the road, a driver narrowly escaped death. Reportedly this morning Bijan Rai was heading from Cooch Behar to Kalchini in a small four-wheeler. The vehicle was driving at a slow speed. On his way, an elephant suddenly came on the road near Dima river bridge. Seeing the elephant, Bijan Rai slowed down the car and got out of the vehicle and ran to save his life. Whereas the car was crushed by the elephant.
