Siliguri, 28th June: Naxalbari’s Subrati Sangha has started the preparations for Durga Puja through the customary tradition of ‘Khutti Puja’ on Wednesday, the day of Ulta Rath. In its 72nd year, Subrati Sangha will set up a Puja Mandap on the special theme of ‘Dhunuchi’ style.
Reportedly, Sabhadhipati Arun Ghosh of the Siliguri Mahakma Parishad, along with the members of the Durga Puja committee, was present as a special guest to inaugurate the preparations. In this regard, Sabhadhipati Arun Ghosh stated that Subrati Sangha is a reputable club for years in Naxalbari that receives the award for the best Puja in the department every year.
Meanwhile, Viraj Sarkar, the secretary of the Puja Committee, cited that the preparations for Durga Puja this year have begun through ‘Khutti Puja’ on the auspicious occasion of the ‘Ulta Rath’. He further expressed that various social programs will commence during the puja days including the distribution of blankets, wheelchairs, and ‘khichdi’ to the public.
