Students travel across knee-deep water on the school grounds in Rajganj, sparks concern

Rajganj, 12th July: The incessant rainfall over the past few days has led the school grounds of Bhotpara Primary School, adjacent to Ambari under Rajganj block, to be inundated with knee-deep water, causing inconvenience to the students. Reportedly, several areas in Rajganj are waterlogged, including the school field as students navigate their way to school.

Parents expressed concerns over the prolonged issue of water logging in the school grounds during the rainy season. Consequently, parents resort to carrying their children on their shoulders to reach the classes. Compounding the issue, the stagnant and dirty water has led to various health concerns among the students. As a result, the parents demanded the removal of the allocated water on the field.

In this regard, the head teacher of the school, Ekramul Haque, stated that the lack of proper drainage facilities is the primary reason behind the water logging on the school grounds. The current predicament not only affects the students but also hampers the teachers’ daily commute to the school. Additionally, a written application has been submitted to the Pradhan of the local Gram Panchayat seeking immediate measures to address the issue. In response, the Panchayat Pradhan has assured prompt action.
