Siliguri, 26th August: The students of North Bengal Dental College and Hospital staged a sit-in protest in front of the gate all night, alleging that the hostel gate was suddenly closed without giving any prior notice. The incident happened on Thursday night in the hostel of the said dental college.
The students protested this morning as well. The hostel residents of the Dental College alleged that after a lot of protests the hostel had updated its closing time from 10pm to 11pm. But, the rule changed all of a sudden when the gate was closed at 09:30pm without any prior notice to the students of the hostel.
Due to this, there were many students outside the gate. On not opening the gate even after constant pleading, the students staged a sit-in protest outside the hostel. After no response from the college administration, the students resumed their agitation this morning. Reportedly, no classes could be conducted today due to the students’ protest.
