Siliguri, 02nd April: Horrifying news gripped the city of Siliguri on Saturday after a stray dog was beaten to death with a stick in Ward No. 11 Khudiram Pally.
Yesterday’s incident sparked outrage among animal rights activists and animal lovers. Expressing their displeasure and condemning the said incident, around 10-12 animal rights organizations and activists staged a silent protest at Hashmi Chowk traffic point demanding stringent actions against the accused.
On the other hand, within 24 hours of the said incident, the police of Panitanki Out Post detained three people. Meanwhile, along with the protests, tribute was paid to the stray dog Rocky by lighting candles and wishing his soul to be in peace.
