Siliguri, 19th January: The NJP Police arrested two youths involved in a motorcycle theft ring. A stolen bike has been seized from their possession. Earlier, the police seized a scooty from them.
Last Saturday night, the police detained the two youths, identified as Pritam Mandal and Sumit Thakur, after they were spotted wandering suspiciously on a scooty in the Teen Batti More area. After they failed to provide any valid documents of the vehicle, the duo was arrested.
Sumit Thakur was taken into police custody after they were sent to Jalpaiguri court on Sunday. Following this, the police recovered another stolen bike from the Shaktigarh area of Ward No. 31. Sumit Thakur was once again produced before the Jalpaiguri court today.
