Stolen bike recovered within 12 hours by Matigara police; thief escapes

Siliguri, 29th November: In a swift operation, undercover officers from Matigara police station successfully recovered a stolen motorcycle within 12 hours of the crime.


According to reports, Jewel, a videographer employed at a private company in the Halermatha area, parked his bike at his workplace on Wednesday. Later that evening, he discovered it had been stolen and promptly lodged a written complaint at Matigara police station.

Acting on the complaint, the undercover police initiated an investigation and received a tip-off that the stolen bike had been spotted near the Indo-Nepal border. Acting swiftly, the officers launched a campaign in the area, recovering the vehicle just before it crossed into Nepal. However, the thief managed to evade capture.


The recovery has brought relief to Jewel, who expressed his happiness with the prompt action of the police. Meanwhile, the Matigara police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
