STF seizes 200 kg of cannabis in Siliguri, three arrested

Siliguri, 06th February: The State Task Force (STF) intercepted a major cannabis smuggling operation from Cooch Behar to Siliguri on Friday, recovering cannabis worth ₹40 lakh. Acting on a tip-off, STF conducted a raid in the Jotiakali area of Fulbari and seized nearly 200 kilograms of cannabis from a goods lorry.


Three people have been arrested in connection with the case, Babul Hossen, Ruhul Islam, and Saddam Hossain, all residents of Cooch Behar. STF sources said the lorry was transporting cannabis to Siliguri, and about 13 sacks of cannabis were recovered during the operation.

The seized cannabis weighs approximately 200 kg, with an estimated market value of ₹40 lakh. The arrested individuals are scheduled to be produced in Jalpaiguri court on Saturday. The STF is continuing its investigation into the entire case.
